Before & After (by Cris)
One minute of silence in memory of our grandmother, aunt or cousin who drew their eyebrows with a
pencil. The (almost) lost art of drawing the “comma”, where the eyebrows used to be often helped by a tweezer to remove that last resilient hair that insists on growing out of place, in a desert once lush with hair and unibrows.
Nowadays, speaking about eyebrows, means looking into a vast world of existing services and treatments, whether is to remove, add, tame, paint or lift them. All is valid. From full and rebellious eyebrows, to shaved, natural but well-groomed, or just painted Some of the options that have been winning over our customers are less marked contours, with looser eyebrows and a thicker, more natural shape.
What is it and what is it for? It consists of a non-invasive procedure, very similar to what is done on your hair. It consists on a chemical process that treats you brow hair to make it smoother and more “domesticable”. It is ideal for rebellious, flawed eyebrows, or for those who want a more natural look. It aligns the brow hairs, making them easier to tame, and gives them some volume. It helps to hide some flaws (but does not correct them), help lift the look and to control the most rebellious eyebrows.
But, although any healthy mortal can be submitted to this procedure, it is worth clarifying here some points and questions about this wonder of the new times.
It is recommended for those who have…
Eyebrows with some flaws or asymmetries.
For those who want a stylish eyebrows with a natural look.
If you have very thin and sparse eyebrows, I do not recommend this service unless it is accompanied by brow tainting, that helps to draw out the missing eyebrow (nevertheless, micro-pigmentation or micro-blading are undoubtedly much more advisable, in my opinion).
How long does the procedure take? It takes between 1h and 1h30 for the entire process. Although we are speaking about eyebrows, each case is different, and times differ accordingly the amount, and type of hair, for a perfect and flawless result, without chemical cuts. There is no winning on go fast in this process, as in this case haste is the enemy of perfection.
Hoe does it work?
It´s a 3 step process
1st step - we apply a cream that creates a chemical process that breaks down the bonds in each hair, allowing them to be manipulated into a new shape. Solution is left on the brows for a predetermined time depending on the condition of the hair.
2nd step - a solution is applied and to help the hair to set in its new position. Solution is left on the brows for a predetermined time depending on the condition of the hair.
3rd step- all traces of the products above are removed from the brows, then a specially developed brow serum with keratin is applied to the brows to hydrate and condition the hair. The brows are brushed into their desired position - this position is adjustable depending on the look you would like to achieve. Brows can be brushed up or brushed into a more natural shape.
How long does it last? It varies between 4 to 8 weeks, and depends a lot from person to person, the care they´ll take on the post-procedure and the type of hair.
Does it have contraindications? This procedure is not recommended for pregnant, breastfeeding women, people with allergies or sensitivity to the chemicals used, as well as for those who have wounds or irritations in the eyebrow area
Is eyebrow coloring mandatory during Brow Lamination? It's optional. For those who have less hair, or very light eyebrows, it is recommended. It is not at all mandatory, nor is it included in the brow lamination process.
Will the eyebrows always be up? No, and we need to demystify this. When you see the before and after images on social media, it is very easy to believe that eyebrows will always look like this, which is incorrect. When you see these images, the eyebrows have the fixer used for finishing the treatment. That's why we advise not to wash or wet your eyebrows for 24 hours. Although the procedure was completely carried out, the chemical process is far from over. During these hours, there is a chemical process taking place inside the brows hair, and will allow the brows to remain aligned and straighter. Read the various descriptions about this treatment, and you will see that it always says “aligns and relaxes the brows hair”. Nothing will make your hair grow in the opposite direction to what is natural for you. Yes, it will allow you to comb and keep your brows hair aligned for longer. To keep it up (or fixed), I recommend the use of an eyebrow brush, gel or wax. It will vary according to the type and amount of hair, as well of the desired look.
Aftercare. Moisturize frequently. Do not get your hair wet for the first 24 hours after the procedure. Avoid saunas and physical activities that can make you sweat a lot. Avoid products with acids or alcohol in their composition. Comb your eyebrows every day to keep the hair in the desired position. Avoid scratching, rubbing or ruffling your eyebrows for the first 24 hours
Till the next time!
